There are four
professional designation programs:
Teaches you to understand
the many aspects of operating a commercial building and maximizing a building`s
net income while minimizing risk.
Facilities Management Administrator (FMA®)
Teaches you to manage
facilities in a way that best support staff and fits into the organization`s
overall objectives while providing information on new technologies,
environmental health and worker safety and other timely issues.
Gain the knowledge you need to effectively manage high-performance sustainable buildings—and achieve significant operational savings.
Teaches you to increase
the operating effectiveness of your building so you are able to manage energy
efficient, environmentally sound, and cost effective building systems.
Teaches you technologies
and trends in the maintenance field so you are able to run energy efficient,
environmentally sound, and cost-effective building systems including the
specific operating systems.
To fulfill the
requirements of each of the designations, students can:
- complete the required
courses outlined for each designation;
- apply for credit for a
specific course based on having taken a course that has been deemed
equivalent to the BOMI course.
- For example; a College or University level
course in budgeting and accounting may be determined to be equivalent to the
- complete a Transfer Credit Application to get credit
for a previously taken course in another BOMI certificate or designation program. (Contact BOMI Canada for further details);
